eFilm:  Searching for studies

When you first open eFilm you are presented with a search screen which looks similar to the screen shown below

To search for studies on one of our scanners/archives:

1.                  Click the “Remote Exams” tab.

2.                  Select the source machine you would like to search by selecting it from the “Destinations” group box.

3.                  Type in the search terms you would like to find.

At the very least, type in a date to search for.  It is very important that you choose at least one field to search on.  Not choosing any field will cause the destination machine to return ALL studies,  and will slow down the destination machine quite a bit.

Let’s take a look at an example.  This sample search will look for all studies from 4/4/2001 on cti1 with a patient id of 555.

Clicking the search button will return 0 hits, because I entered an invalid Patient ID.  Searching all studies for 4/4/2001 on cti1 will return all the studies on the scanner for that day.

If we would like to see one of these studies, we should select it and click retrieve. Do not click view. This can cause problems. This will move it to our local pc.

To actually view the study, click the “Local Exams” tab.  Now, click the “View” button.
